Account Director – Infrastructure and Major Projects
As an Account Director, Infrastructure and Major Projects based in London, Bristol or Birmingham, you will be a strategic communications consultant with a portfolio of infrastructure and major project clients. At the centre of multi-disciplinary teams, you will be working on some of the biggest projects in the sector delivering communications, compliant consultation and engagement for Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs). Your counsel to clients and management of campaigns will add social value and build advocacy for projects. From a consultancy perspective, you will lead and mentor teams across defined projects, generate income by driving account profitability and build and grow a practice area.
A strategic communications consultant, you will devise and lead the delivery of multiple infrastructure outcome-focused campaigns from initiation through to planning and construction
You will devise and deliver pre-application consultation for NSIPs
You will provide trusted strategic advice that protects and enhances clients’ reputations including message development, language and tone of voice
You will devise and lead the delivery of media management strategies and manage all aspects of media management
You will devise and deliver public affairs and stakeholder engagement strategies to manage relevant political issues and agendas.
Acting for the consultancy, you will manage client relationships, deliver income and profitability against an agreed budget and plan
You will develop and deliver a proactive plan for growth, create a network of relevant contacts and referrals and lead the new business process for your practice area

Passionate about the development and infrastructure sector, you will have an extensive track record of developing and delivering communication, consultation and engagement strategies for infrastructure and major projects
Preferably have knowledge of, and experience of developing and leading the delivery of pre-application consultation (statutory and non-statutory) for NSIPs
Experience of managing consultation feedback and analysis, preparing a statutory Consultation Report for a Development Consent Order application and choreographing an examination in public an advantage
Consultancy skill-set with strong interpersonal skills, ability to become a trusted advisor, strategic thinker who balances delivery with attention to detail, innovation and achievement
An entrepreneurial spirit with a proven track record in delivering income and profitability targets and generating new business
Politically astute with a working knowledge of the UK’s political structures
A strong people manager who can manage performance, workloads and budgets while nurturing career development and wellbeing.
