James is an experienced communicator and has a strong track record in stakeholder engagement, with a focus on local, regional and national government relations. He has worked in agency and in-house roles across a range of industries, most recently in the aviation sector.
James joined Copper in early 2020 from Bristol Airport where he was Head of Government & Stakeholder Relations. In this role he was responsible for the airport’s public affairs, community relations and media activity during a period of unprecedented growth, as well as leading consultation and engagement to help secure planning approval for major development.
Experienced in crisis management, James is well placed to advise clients facing potential challenges to their reputation. He enjoys working with clients to understand their key issues and shapes positive outcomes through clear and consistent engagement with local, regional and national stakeholders.
Earlier in his career, James worked for a leading financial services organisation where he used impactful consumer research to generate compelling media coverage in order to build brand awareness. He has a degree in politics and a postgraduate qualification in journalism.
