Sam is an experienced consultation and engagement consultant, specialising in planning and infrastructure.
He has worked on some of the UK’s most high-profile infrastructure projects across transport, energy and the built environment.
Sam’s experience is built on big infrastructure. He combines his expertise in best practice public and stakeholder consultation with an extensive understanding of the legislative process behind development projects, to devise and deliver successful communications and consultation strategies for clients.
He has provided strategic comms, media and engagement support on a wide range of projects and clients, including Crossrail, Highways England, Vattenfall Wind Power, National Grid, HS2, Manston Airport and the Palace of Westminster Restoration and Renewal Programme.
He is highly skilled in working with clients to communicate complex messages to stakeholders in an engaging and meaningful way, helping to build advocacy and support for projects.
During 2020, Sam has led on devising digital engagement strategies for clients, allowing the continuation of consultation programmes during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Sam has extensive experience of advising clients on successfully navigating the requirements of local authority, NSIP and Hybrid Bill planning regimes.
Sam recently re-joined Copper, having spent two years working for another communications agency. Prior to that he was with Copper for over six years and was instrumental in growing our energy and transport portfolio.
